                                Ready, Set, Go

The new year is wide open in front of you.  What areas of your life find you stuck in place?  Perhaps a positive shift is just around the corner…
Everyone is a bit worn down thanks to the economic woes of the past few years.  It’s only natural that we as individuals have begun to withdraw into ourselves, pull up our knees, bite our nails, and pull our blankets over our heads, awaiting the day when someone will come along and make it all better again.
When do you suppose that will be?
I liken the situation to waiting for the snowplows to come in our recent winter blast.  The longer you wait, the heavier the load becomes until eventually you face the harsh reality that you have to tackle this mess yourself, so you don your protective clothing & get on with it.  Once the shovel hits the snow, something shifts… The pendulum starts to swing in your favor…you’re doing something about your situation, things are looking up, progress is happening, heck you’re even getting exercise!!!  Soon enough the chill slips away and you celebrate the freedom that 4 wheels have to offer.
As a Transformational Life Coach, I partner with clients of all ages to uncover possibilities and create momentum that will help you move beyond limiting beliefs and roadblocks to a happier, more fulfilling life.  The new path is all yours in the making.  I just help you shovel it out so you can be on your way.

Raven Haven??? Hmmm....
What's up with the "Raven Haven" thing you ask?  Here's the background:  Two of my most dear friends came to Seattle to cheer me up a couple years back when I was going through a rough time.  Conveniently, they both share the same name, Michelle.  While laughing and crying our way back into higher spirits in a beautiful setting in the San Juans, they came up with the name "Raven Haven" for my family's island retreat.  The name was meant to be.  To me, and likely many others, Ravens are powerful, strong, beautiful creatures that have the ability to move with both grace and determination through sometimes difficult terrain.
Several months later, I was participating in a workshop as part of my coach training where we intensely sought out and examined the core qualities that make each of us who we are.  "Essence" statements evolved from this exercise, and without any forethought, the Raven played a prominent role in mine. (see below)

"I am Raven, Warrior for Truth, Beauty and Perseverance.  Intuition guides me, Laughter feeds me, Deep Connections ARE ME.  Just as the Phoenix rose from the ashes, I too, becoming a mirror of Hope for myself and others, Provoking Action, Inspiring Healing, and Creating a Legacy littered with broken barriers and filled with Soaring Souls."
